Singapore, Tuesday September 2, 2003 - IE Singapore and Ogilvy
& Mather today announced the launch of the Global Brand Forum Singapore, an
ambitious effort to put issues of brands, business and leadership onto a single
world platform for the first time. The inaugural event, to be held December 1-2,
2003, will bring to Singapore many of the world's most inspirational and influential
leaders to exchange ideas and share their vision for the future. "With
a growing demand on business to be a force for positive social change, the Global
Brand Forum is the new platform for the world's best minds and greatest thinkers
to discuss and debate the future of global brand and business leadership,"
noted Karthik Siva, chairman of the Global Brand Forum. "We're aiming to
make a difference by truly raising perspectives and standards in the business
world," he added. The 2-day forum marks Singapore's entry onto the
map of major world events with an unprecedented line-up of brand and business
visionaries providing a fresh alternative to the mostly economic and political
focused global conferences on offer today. "Just as the Olympics can draw
positive international attention to its host country, Global Brand Forum Singapore
aims to promote and foster a regional and worldwide understanding of Singapore's
capabilities as a global platform for knowledge and creativity," said IE
Singapore CEO Lee Yi Shyan. "Further, we believe a forum of this calibre
and level reinforces Singapore's position as a hub for global events and thought
leadership," concluded Mr. Lee. The giants of business headlining
this year's forum include:
