Singapore, Thursday November 13,
2003 -- Demand for attendance at next month's Global Brand Forum - which boasts
a speaker line-up of Anita Roddick, Deepak Chopra, Tom Peters, Narayana Murthy,
Scott Bedbury, Ho Kwon Ping and Tom Kelley - has reached a crescendo, with participants
confirmed from every corner of Asia Pacific and over 25 countries around the world.
"We have businessmen from Mexico, from the US and from many places in Europe
and Asia all coming to Singapore to interact with the giants of business,"
said Karthik Siva, Chairman of the forum. The inaugural event, held on
December 1-2, 2003, will be officially opened by Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew,
and brings to Singapore many of the world's most inspirational and influential
leaders to exchange ideas and share their vision for the future. The Global Brand
Forum is an ambitious effort by IE Singapore and the Ogilvy Group to put issues
of brands, business and leadership onto a single world platform for the first
time. "With a growing demand on business to be a force for positive
social change, the Global Brand Forum is the new platform for the world's best
minds and greatest thinkers to discuss and debate the future of global brand and
business leadership," added Mr. Siva. "We're aiming to make a difference
by truly raising perspectives and standards in the business world, and by current
indications, we mean the business world in the truest sense." The
2-day forum marks Singapore's entry onto the map of major world events with an
unprecedented line-up of brand and business visionaries providing a fresh alternative
to the mostly economic and political focused global conferences on offer today.
"Just as the Olympics can draw positive international attention to its host
country, Global Brand Forum Singapore is promoting and fostering a regional and
worldwide understanding of Singapore's capabilities as a global platform for knowledge
and creativity," said IE Singapore CEO Lee Yi Shyan. "Further, we believe
a forum of this calibre and level reinforces Singapore's position as a hub for
global events and thought leadership," concluded Mr. Lee. The speakers
and panel leaders will challenge conventional wisdom, discussing topics ranging
